Research Interest

• Study of platelet-subendothelium interactions: effects of drugs on platelet and fibrin deposition.
• Haemostatic capacity of platelet concentrates under different storage conditions, inactivation procedures…
• Search of possible platelet substitutes. Evaluation of haemostatic and procoagulant effect under flow conditions.
• Evaluation of coagulation factors on platelet interaction and fibrin formation.
• Study of thrombogenicity (biocompatibility) of different synthetic materials used in surgical procedures.

Techniques

• Platelet function: Platelet aggregometry, PFA-100® Analyzer.
• Annular and parallel chamber perfusion systems. Morphometric techniques.
• Immunocytochemistry.
• Coagulation test: F1+2, D-D.
• Flow Cytometry.
• Molecular Biology: mRNA isolation, RT-PCR.
